VVO 735 |
Not all as it would first appear!
VVO 735 started life as a 1949 Leyland PS1 with Duple single deck coachwork numbered 560 in the Bartons fleet - KAL 380. By 1957 the body had been replaced with a lowbridge double decker from Willowbrook seating 30 downstairs and 31 to the upper saloon. This rebodied vehicle became known as a BTL/PD1. One unusual aspect of 735 is that the original 1949 vehicle was based upon a 7'6" chassis width whilst the later double deck bodywork was to suit the wider 8' version. Whilst this is no detriment to the vehicle it is quite an obvious difference when veiwed from the front/rear. Work has been started on returning 735 back to 'in service' condition and will prove to be an unusual addition to the fleet. |
